What kinds of files can I translate with ITC Express?
ITC Express is for quick, easy translations, so we handle the most popular simple file formats.Microsoft Office formatsWord (DOC/DOCX): All unhidden text will be translated, including comments.Excel (XLS/XLSX): Comments will not be translated.PowerPoint (PPT/PPTX): All text in the document will be translated, including hidden slides and notes. The final layout may be different from the original.Other formatsAdobe InDesign (IDML): Any text inside and outside the printing area will be translated. What should I do if I have reference files I want the post-editor or translator to look at?
A reference file helps the post-editor or translator understand your text better so they can create the best possible translation. Examples of useful reference files include an image described in the text, an image showing the content in context, and similar content you’ve already translated.Email them to express@itcglobaltranslations.com and our project managers will send them to the linguist.
How fast can my project be translated?
Since ITC Express services include human post-editing, it isn’t instantaneous. While this takes a bit more time, it means you’ll get a translation that’s accurate and higher quality.In general, a post-editor can review 500 words per hour or 4,000 words per day.When you send us your project, please share as much detail as possible about your deadlines so your project manager can plan accordingly. The estimated delivery time will be indicated in your quote.
How do I know my project is completed?
You’ll get an email when your project is finished and ready to download.
What file format will I receive?
Once your project is ready, you’ll receive the same format of file you uploaded.However, please note that ITC Express doesn’t provide desktop publishing services (DTP).If you upload files such as IDML or PPTX, you will receive a translated file without layout adjustment. If you want a ready-to-use translated file, we suggest you choose ITC Premium services.
I haven’t gotten any emails from ITC Express. What’s going on?
Sometimes our emails get caught in spam filters, so check your Spam or Junk Email folders. If it’s been more than 24 hours and you still don’t see anything in your inbox or spam, let us know at express@itcgl.com.
What if the languages I want aren’t available on ITC Express?
Good news! ITC Premium is a great option for any other languages you need. ITC Global also offers lots of other language services like transcreation, revision, SEO translation, website localization, video localization, and more.
What if my file format isn’t on the ITC Express list?
If you’re interested in translating more complex file formats or have specific design requirements, we have another option for you: ITC Premium. There you’ll get individualized support and a full suite of language services, including proofreading, desktop publishing, content writing, and language localization.
What if I need subtitle translation that includes timecoding and follows certain character limits?
Again, ITC Premium is the best option when you have special subtitle requirements like timecoding and character limits. You’ll get SRT or VTT subtitle files ready to embed into your video project. Or let our team handle the whole process from transcription to post-production. We also offer voice-over, voice casting,ynthetic voices, voice cloning and more so ITC Premium is the perfect choice for fully localizing your videos.
What happens if a document has text I’ve already translated in a previous project on this platform?
When we create your first project, we automatically creates a bilingual database called a translation memory to securely store your content for reuse in future projects. This saves time and money since you won’t pay to translate the same content twice. As always, we keep your data secure.
